Salsa, Mambo, On1, On2, Casino Rueda, Merengue, Bachata, and various other styles of Latin dancing are different ways of interpreting this rhythmic music through our body movements. In my opinion, listening to the clave, drums, and lyrics is what gives you the ultimate experience.  After your mind and soul captures all the instrumental elements you inevitably begin to physically express the beats, accents, and music as a whole.

I was introduced to Salsa dancing by a friend in May 2003.  Shortly after, he became my mentor and guided me to Salsa New York Style (On2), which I immediately embraced as my personal favorite. Salsa New York Style allows the ladies to smoothly style and spin providing enough time to make an impact to the lead. For the leads, it allows the ability to "feel" the music and creatively improvise according to the pace and the words.  Salsa New York Style is about flavor, soul and savoring the music.  Its about synchronizing your body movements and expressions to the beat of the clave, drums or whatever beat hits the spot.

Salsa itself is not just about the dance, its about the culture, the music, the history behind the lyrics, the evolution of the instruments and orchestras, the creation of new interpretations and the challenge to make the dancers move.  It is passionate and creative.  It is a unique and fulfilling art.

Let me invite you to take a class and learn about the power of the music, the dance, the culture and the history that is exciting people all around the globe!
